Summary: Least exciting appointment ever!
Sorry I have not been updating my blog as often as I would have like. Work has been keeping me real busy lately. It has been 5 weeks since I last wrote!
My ortho appoinment was this past Tuesday and I did take some before and after pictures which I will post over the weekend.
On Tuesday I was hoping for some really good news but I already knew I wouldn't be getting any. When my orthodontist saw me, I told him I think the gap has opened up again (and it did). I have been instructed to wearing the elastic bands at night and I think that might have been the problem. He took a look and asked me to open and close my mouth multiple times. I could tell he was trying to decide what to experiment next. Next thing I hear is him telling the nurse to change some elastic bands.
The nurse comes over and replaces all my current rubber bands and on the upper left side (where the gap is) she puts in 2! I was disappointed this time because my wires weren't even removed! It feels like there was a set back :(. I spoke with the orthodontist and he said he will try to close the gap again first. He is trying to figure out why it isn't closing and it could be because the last molar doesn't want to move so when the rubber band was stretched all the way back, it allowed the gap to grow since the molar didn't move. So, this time around the rubber band on the upper left didn't go all the way back to the last molar, but instead to the 2nd last molar.
My next appointment is in 4 weeks (which I like). I am guessing it is going to take at least 4 more months before I get my braces off.... can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

Week 70 - Ortho Appointment
Summary: I am all rubberized
I just got back from my ortho appointment and decided to give a quick update. I just realized I did not write or post pictures since my last ortho appointment 6 weeks ago but it has been really busy for me lately :(. Sorry!!!
Here is my quick update of what was done to me today:
1) New wires on upper teeth again (went back to the strongest wire with the little hooks)
2) New side rubber bands (the ones I don't replace daily) on the bottom right and left side
3) No more spring on my upper left side (they are trying to close that big hole)
4) New side rubber bands (the ones I don't replace daily) on the top right and left side
5) New daily bands on left and right side.
6) New power chain on front teeth to close small gaps
These are all pretty vague but I will update later this week with pictures. I sense a really painful day today and tomorrow with all of these changes.

Week 32 with the Damon Braces
Summary: Not much has changed except I am used to the braces for sure!
I apologize as I have not written for about a month but in reality there hasn't been much to write about. My braces are about 7 months old already and I have gotten used to them. Yesterday I felt like ripping them off but that was before I didn't want to floss. LOL.
Here are my latest pictures. As you can see, I still have the same gaps and there is very little movement so far. My lower teeth have moved very nicely and next week I'll probably get them a set of rectangular archwires.

Week 27: New Gaps
Status Summary: I have a gap between my two front teeth.
Ever since I got the rectangular archwires I felt some sensitivity in my upper teeth but no real pain. This morning I woke up and I didn't really feel anymore sensitivity so I took a closer look at them after brushing my teeth. And, the gap is what I found.
It feels kind of awkward but I know why they moved. They were initially angled and now they are finally straight. I noticed this for the longest time and now it is fixed!
For now, there is no more pain or anything and I am definitely looking forward for my next appointment to see what are the next steps.
Here are my pictures. Notice the new gap on the first picture.
